It took me a long time to come here but I made a trip out last weekend. We came on a Saturday and waited in line for about 30-40 min. The line does move pretty fast. They only allow 1 - 2 groups of people into the store since it is a pretty small store. I got a regular croissant, ham & cheese croissant, almond croissant, and shortbread cookies. The croissants were A plus. I love croissants and having them fresh was so freaking delicious. The croissants are super buttery and flaky and soft. It is so easy to eat that I polished it off in a few minutes. The shortbread cookies here are also delicious, super buttery and not too sweet. They are a MUST if you like shortbread cookies. Come here if you are in the city! You wont regret it.

Best croissant in the city! Be prepared to wait pretty much regardless of when you arrive. Line moves decently quick but this place is popular for a reason. Croissants are decently sized, share if you're with a group so you can try multiple. Chocolate almond croissant is especially large and decadent.

If I can review one place a million times, that would be Arsicault!! I have tried their almond croissants and almond chocolate croissants TIME AND AGAIN ---- and they are SIMPLY AMAZING!! My personal favorite is the chocolate almond croissant which smartly has the chocolate to cut the sweetness from the almond filling and sugar coating. This would be my go to place if I am craving and is in my opinion #1 best tasting croissant in all of bay area. The long lines never deter me, because I know it is definitely worth the wait :D

Amazing probably the most buttery and flakey croissant I've ever had (yes I've been to paris) something so special about this San Francisco bakery. I came during the week around 10:30 am and there was a min line. Service was quick. There is a nice little coffee shop next door that I ordered a coffee and enjoyed them together. OMG must try

I'm glad they were out of chocolate croissants on the day I came because I ordered an almond chocolate croissant instead and it was mind blowing. I have never had anything quite like this before. My husband is a scone lover. I snagged him a cranberry coconut scone and after taking a bite I wish I'd gotten one for myself (and I'm not a person who gets excited over scones). But this is a topnotch scone! My husband said it was the best scone he'd ever had (and dude eats a lot of scones). I also got a chocolate chip cookie. I'm rarely able to resist a chocolate chip cookie (who, really, is?) and this one was excellent. Arsicault is hyped for good reason. The line was short when I came, but I'd probably be willing to wait in a longer one to get my hands on an almond chocolate croissant, cranberry coconut scone, or chocolate chip cookie. Ideally, all three.

Met up with a friend to try their croissants! We went at 11:30 am on a Saturday and even with the line going down half the block, we waited only about 15 minutes which was faster than I expected. They had a written menu that you could see outside before you ordered. The place was small and had no seating inside but I got my item immediately. Chocolate Croissant - What surprised me was how massive the croissant was but at the same time, it was so flaky and crunchy. They also add so much chocolate into their croissant that is perfectly melted and you really get chocolate in each bite. I also tried some of my friend's chocolate almond croissant which was also really good with the added almond paste and powdered sugar on top. Highly recommend checking it out if you're craving a croissant or some classic baked goods.

There's always a line going up the street for this place. I've stopped in several times. Everything they make is excellent, but pricey. But so good, I keep coming back. My favorites are the ham and cheese croissant, the savory bacon scone, and the chocolate croissant. But you can't go wrong with anything here. Oh, and after you get your baked goods here, go next door to Breck's for a great cup of coffee.

I am not exaggerating when I say this is the best croissant I've ever eaten in my life, and I've been to France. Per my friend's advice - came on a weekend since I've been told this is how you get the freshest croissants. I got the ham & cheese and when I tell you that you can FEEL every layer of the croissant when you bite into it, I am not lying. So buttery, flaky, and stuffed with just the perfect amount of ham and cheese. I walked around the Richmond Farmers Market with croissant flakes all over myself without a care in the world. A few of us also split the chocolate croissant afterwards and again, just an absolute treasure of a pastry. Two swirled pockets of decadent chocolate...I'm still dreaming about them. If you go, there will be a line, and it is WORTH EVERY MINUTE.

Arsicault Bakery serves the best croissants! Straight from the oven, these croissants are warm, light, and perfectly flaky. Despite the bakery's popularity, the line moves very quickly. During peak hours, the wait is normally at least 30 minutes, so it's better to come earlier before the popular croissants sell out. I tried the chocolate, almond, and ham and cheese croissants, and each one was so good. My personal favorite was the ham and cheese croissant, which had the perfect balance of flakiness and savory goodness. The ham and cheese is a must-order at Arsicault--I never thought a ham and cheese croissant could be so good! The chocolate and almond croissants were also bomb and leaned towards the sweeter side. The almond croissant was not overly sweet and was light, making it a close second favorite for me. Overall, Arsicault Bakery is a must-visit spot for the best croissants. I highly recommend it, and the wait is definitely worth it!
